Flat Tire

On our way home from Idaho, I was driving on the freeway, I changed lanes and all of a sudden, I started going back and forth and I couldn't control the Van. I finally pulled over on the side of the freeway and it was a flat tire. We were very blessed not to crash. Mark was changing the tire and he realized he needed to go to the bathroom really bad, so this is him coming back from going behind the rocks, it was pretty funny!

Idaho Reunion

Marks family had a reunion in twin falls, Idaho. It was fun, tons of family and a beautiful place. They made this pond to swim in with a slide, the kids and Mark had a blast. It was pretty much out in the middle of nowhere, in a valley where Marks uncle lives. We camped out for a couple days and Andrew and Renee did very well. We took two days traveling up and we were ready to be there. We have so enjoyed Mark being off for 6 weeks from school. We have went swimming everyday, traveled to NM, Idaho and were going on Sunday to Disneyland. We won't know what to do when he has to go back to school.

Camping

Renee has found her thumb, I don't mind because she puts herself back to sleep, she sleeps from 7:30 or 8pm until 6 or 7a.m. It's nice to get a full nights rest.
We went camping with the kids for the first time. we actually got rained on the whole night, but the kids were warm, I didn't sleep much. We had a family reunion in Santa Fe, NM, these our my(jill) dad's parents.

Renee's Baby Blessing

Everything went really well for Renee's blessing, we blessed her on May 3rd and she was wide awake and very good during it, besides farting the whole time. We couldn't hear it, but Mark said she was.

It has been snowing for about two days and it is still snowing. It is supposed to stop later tonight. but we have gotten lots of snow, and it is the middle of April. This is more snow than we got all winter.

Renee 6 weeks old

Renee is now 9 lbs 7 ounces and is doing pretty good, besides a few problems like her leg that bothers her every now and then, we also just realized that she has acid reflux and so we got some medicine to help with the pain and we think it's helping her not be agitated when she eats. Last night she slept from 10pm-5am. It was heaven, I'm hoping she'll continue to do that.

Andrew was helping me make brownies and we both got a little carried away with the batter, it's so dang good!

Renee's Club foot

Renee just got her cast put on her left foot for her club foot. It's a very long process. We have to go in every week for 6-8 weeks and they will recast it, so they can get it to the correct position. Once they are able to turn it correctly then she'll have to do a little surgery where they cut her tendon, so that her foot will move up and they will cast that for 4 weeks. Then after that she'll have to wear these special shoes with a bar in between them so that her foot won't go back. She'll wear that all of the time until she can start pulling herself up into a standing position. Then she only has to wear the shoes at naptime and bedtime until she's 2 years old. What a long process, but atleast it's nothing serious and we can fix it. Right now she doesn't even know she has a cast on, it doesn't even bother her.

Renee Joy Himes

Renee was born on Feb 25th 2009 @ 4:04 a.m, she weighs 6 lbs 7 ounces and she is 19 1/2 inches long. The delivery went great, they induced me on Tuesday night and I pushed for 3 contractions and she was out. She is healthy and strong, but she does have a club foot on her left. But luckily the doctors can easily fix that with probably a cast.

Driving home for Christmas

So this is our scary adventure driving to New Mexico from Colorado for Christmas. We thought the roads would be o.k., because the news said they were and once we got to the 3rd pass that we had to drive over, the sign said that chains were required. So Mark put our chains on and by now it was a blizzard, there was snow covered the roads and it was hard to see. We started driving and we realized the chains were to big and the drivers side was hitting the side of our car and making a horrible sound. There was nothing we could do, because we couldn't pull over there was no side of the road, so we kept driving and then the drivers side chain fell off. Right after that we hit a icy spot and it shot us to the right and we hit that snow bank and then it shot us to the left which was the cliff side (the side you die on) and luckily the snow bank was so high that we hit it and it stopped us, once the snow fell off our car we could see that we were hanging off the ledge a little bit. I was sure panicking, but trying not to hyperventilate. I kept telling Mark not to move, because i still thought we could go over anytime. Luckily a plow truck was behind us and after 15 minutes of sitting in our car he was able to pull us out. Then because of the chain hitting our car it messed up our defrost and our wipers. So we had to drive a few minutes down the road while i kept wiping the windshield so Mark could see, before we could pull off and fix them. We got them fixed and we still had to drive 20 minutes down the pass to get to a town. It was dark and we still only had 1 chain on our tire. It was very stressful. We finally made it to Chama and there was a huge storm there, so we were stuck overnight at a motel and the next day wasn't any better. But we went ahead and bought new chains and drove 4 hours home, even though it was only suppose to take 1 1/2 hrs. Needless to say we were glad to get there.

Mark was being our handy man and fixing our leak in our sink and Andrew had to be right next to him at every moment, it was the cutiest thing ever. One time Mark called for me to help and he was on his back under the sink and Andrew had climbed on top of his stomach, it was hilarious. Anytime Mark would walk away to get another tool Andrew would chase him and cry. He was Marks helper for the day.

Halloween

Andrew and his cousins had a blast going trick or treating.

Andrew has learned to climb on top of the dishwasher, he thinks he is so cool, it's fun to watch.

IT"S A GIRL

We went to the doctor yesterday and had our ultrasound and they said everything looked fine and that it was a girl. We were very excited! Were going to name her Renee Joy Himes. They said she looks like she'll be the same weight as Andrew about 7 pounds. Now I have to decide how to paint there room and decorate since they'll be sharing.

He is already mischevious, he likes to dig in the trash and find food to eat, when I catch him he smiles and runs the other way. you would think we weren't feeding him, but he eats as much as I do at every meal!

Were Pregnant!

Yes it's true were going to have another baby. Were way excited, I am almost 5 months and we get to find out what it is on Oct. 16th. I think it will be a boy, but mark thinks it will be a girl. We'll see, either way we'll be happy. I've been feeling real good, even better than with Andrew. My belly is starting to get bigger and I'm feeling the baby kick a little bit. My due date is March 8th, so Andrew and the baby will be 18 months apart.

Andrew's 1st Birthday

He had a blast opening presents, eating cake. At first he grabbed the plate of cake and dumped it on the floor. Then I got smart and just put the cake on the table and he even started eating it straight off the table with no hands. Mark made a mud puddle for him and Caden to play in, they liked eating the mud mostly. Andrew got a broom, tool set, dump truck, clothes, golf clubs, popper and utensils. It was a good birthday!

We went to the Timpanagos Caves in Utah with our good friends Ryan and Molly. The caves were pretty cool. Mark also waited for quite a while to get these good shots of lightning in New Mexico. He is very proud of them.

Mark's White Coat

For Mark's orientation before Medical School started they did a white coat ceremony where the doctors presented the students with their coats. It was pretty neat. So Mark's officially a Student Doctor. Crazy! Since he's started his schedule is 8-5pm everyday and he get's home at 5:30 and we eat dinner and he plays with Andrew until we put him to bed at 7pm and then he goes to study until about 9 or 10pm. He's really doing great he stays on top of things well and we still get some time with him, it's working out well.

Entertainment

So my sisters and I had a girls night out. We went to Durango Colorado and ate mexican food, bought some fudge and took some old western pictures and then went to a melodrama. What a blast, we couldn't stop laughing. And Krystal had fun up on stage playing the piano and singing. She was the only one brave enough to be the volunteer. She's a natural performer. Since we've moved to Denver, they have the broncos training practice just down the road from us for free, so me and Andrew took advantage of that.

Wild Boy

Andrew is sure a character, he's walking everywhere and we love it. He laughs all the time and gets so excited to walk where ever he wants. He's 11 months and has been walking since 9 months old. It's great for us, because he entertains himself a lot better now. We've gotta start brushing his teeth though, there lookin a little scary!
